Atlanta, GA – Two Injured in Tractor-Trailer Collision in SB Lanes of I-75
Atlanta, GA (May 1, 2023) – Two people were injured in a tractor-trailer collision that took place on a highway in Atlanta on the afternoon of Monday, May 1.
According to Atlanta Police, the accident happened around 2 p.m. in the southbound lanes of I-75 near the area of Folsom Road. Police confirmed that a white Chevrolet Silverado was traveling in the area when the driver started to make a lane change. At that time, a tractor-trailer flatbed slammed into the rear of the Silverado, causing the vehicle to spin out of control and land in the median. The tractor-trailer then slammed into the back of a black Silverado with a trailer, and both vehicles then came to a stop.
Several local responders, including paramedics and fire crews, were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. The drivers of both the tractor-trailer and the white Silverado were rushed to Piedmont Cartersville for treatment of injuries. They are expected to be okay.
The roadway was blocked for an extended period of time. Police worked to clear the scene as quickly as possible.
The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues. Police will update with new information as it is available.
Our thoughts and sympathies go out to the parties who have been hurt in this accident with hopes of a full recovery.
Truck Accidents in Georgia
Tractor trailers are some of the largest vehicles on our roads in Georgia, weighing as much as 80,000 pounds. This means that, in the event of an accident, they are capable of causing catastrophic damages. Tractor-trailer accidents do not happen as commonly as other passenger vehicles, but when they do occur, they tend to lead to some of the most extensive harm. In just one recent year’s time in the U.S., it was reported that over 119,000 people were seriously injured in truck accidents. If your life has been affected by a truck crash that is not your fault, you should speak with an attorney as soon as possible.
