Dalton, GA – One Injured in House Fire on Broad Acre Rd
Dalton, GA (October 14, 2021) – On Wednesday, October 13, an arrest was made related to a house fire that led to injuries in Dalton.
According to Whitfield County officials, the incident happened in a house on Broad Acre Road. A 25-year-old woman set fire to a 2,000-square-foot home in the early morning hours due to reasons that are not yet known. Fire crews got the fire under control and confirmed that the fire was intentionally set in the living room of the home.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. One person inside the home was injured as a result of the fire. They were taken to a hospital in Atlanta for treatment of their injuries but are expected to be okay.
The woman who intentionally set fire to the home was arrested. She was charged with first degree arson, possession of tools to commit a crime, criminal damage to property, and reckless conduct.
The area was blocked for an extended period of time as fire crews brought the fire under control.
The investigation into the circumstances of the fire continues.
