Dalton, GA – One Injured in Serious Commercial Fire on Roland Hills Dr
Dalton, GA (March 12, 2023) – One person was seriously injured in a commercial fire that took place in Dalton around 8 p.m. on the night of Sunday, March 12.
According to Whitfield County Fire responders, the fire broke out late at night in a commercial structure behind fire station 1 on Roland Hills Drive. When fire crews received a call, they immediately responded and found that the commercial structure was completely engulfed in flames by the time that they arrived.
Paramedics, fire crews, and several other local responders were dispatched to the scene to help. One person who was inside the structure at the time sustained serious injuries. They were transported to the hospital by Hamilton ambulance crews, though their current condition is not yet known.
The area was blocked off for some time following the fire. It took fire crews an extended period of time to completely bring the fire under control.
The investigation into the circumstances leading up to the fire remains ongoing at this time.
Our thoughts and sympathies go out to the party injured in this incident with hopes of a full recovery.
Fires and Explosions in Georgia
More fires break out in Georgia than many other states in the U.S. Though many of these fires are quickly brought under control by fire crews, others blaze out of control and burn structures to the ground. Fires and explosions happen in both residential and commercial areas, sometimes causing severe damage and harm to occupants. In one recent year, it was determined that there were 6 fatalities and 21 injuries reported out of every 1,000 fires. If you have sustained injuries in a fire-related incident, you know how difficult the recovery can be. Speaking with a skilled attorney is in your best interests at this time.
Fires are very concerning events that can typically be prevented in homes and businesses. However, sometimes fires break out within seconds and quickly engulf entire structures. The injuries that stem from fires can be severe, which include some of the following:
- Smoke inhalation injuries
- Burn injuries
- Death, in some of the worst cases
