Lawrenceville, GA – Fatal Pedestrian Accident on Lawrenceville Hwy
Lawrenceville, GA (September 7, 2021) – At 8:30 p.m. on Sunday night, September 5, a fatal pedestrian accident occurred in Lawrenceville.
According to Gwinnett County Police, the accident happened at the intersection of Lawrenceville Highway and Fernview Drive. A 32-year-old man was attempting to cross the intersection when he was suddenly struck by a work van. The driver of the work van fled the scene without coming to a stop.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help. The pedestrian was traumatically injured in the accident. He was tragically pronounced dead at the scene.
Police worked to clear the scene for several hours. They have not yet found the driver responsible for the accident.
No further details have been released. The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues.
