Rockhill, GA – Seven Injured in Three-Vehicle Collision on GA-280
Rockhill, GA (April 17, 2023) – Seven people were injured in a three-vehicle crash that took place on a major roadway in Rockhill on the afternoon of Monday, April 17.
According to Sumter County officials, the accident happened at 12:15 p.m. in the westbound lanes of GA-280. Police confirmed that three vehicles were traveling in the area when they were suddenly involved in a collision with one another due to reasons that are still under investigation. The vehicles sustained severe damage, and debris was left scattered in the area after the accident.
Several local responders, including paramedics and fire crews, were immediately dispatched to the scene. A total of seven individuals sustained injuries as a result of the collision. The victims were rushed to Phoebe Sumter Medical Center for treatment of their injuries. Their conditions are not known at this time.
The roadway was blocked in the area until approximately 2:00 p.m.
